Ashton Villa are bracing themselves for a January raid of club captain and local hero Jack Grealish.
That is according to the Daily Mirror who claim that three clubs will be looking to test waters in January. They report that Manchester United and Manchester City will lead the charge for Grealish.
However, they also report that Liverpool are also monitoring the situation following the comments made by Mo Salah during the week.
The England international has gone from strength to strength since Villa’s promotion in 2019. Now at the age of 25, he looks more than ready to take the next step in his career.
With five goals and six assists in 14 league games, Grealish has been vital in his side’s encouraging performances this season.
The lure of Champions League football from these three clubs could prove to be too hard to turn down.
The value of Jack Grealish is only going to rise between now and the summer. Having been capped five times by his country he looks set to be included in England’s Euro 2021 squad.
Any promising performances in that competition will only see more money added onto his transfer value.
Although Liverpool have been linked it is the two Manchester clubs who will be the driving forces behind any deal. Both clubs were linked with moves for Grealish last summer but a move failed to materialise after being put off by his £80 million valuation.
The race for Jack Grealish is one to certainly keep an eye on but whoever does win that race will be considered title favourites.
