After reaching an agreement two weeks ago, Chelsea have now confirmed that Timo Werner will be joining them in July.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a prolific campaign so far scoring 32 goals and laying on 13 assists for his team-mates.
This has seen him emerge as one of Europe’s most-coveted assets so no prizes for guessing how excited Chelsea fans are at the news of his impending arrival.
On the completion of his signing, Werner said: “I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club. I, of course, want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years.
You will forever be in my heart. I look forward to next season with my new team-mates, my new manager and of course the Chelsea fans. Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.”
His ability to be deployed in multiple positions would surely give Lampard selection headaches; a problem every manager would like to have.
The Blues have delivered their second statement of intent in the transfer market and are showing no signs of stopping with both Havertz and Chilwell on their radar.
Despite the current season still nine games away from completion, Chelsea are already making plans to ensure a memorable next season.
