Leicester City are set to reward Harvey Barnes with a fresh contract following his sublime display in the emphatic win over Manchester City.
Sources close to Premier League Central suggest that the young star has been highlighted as key for future success and will be handed a contract extension, with a potential expiry date of the terms ending in 2025.
He signed a new deal just last year but his energetic displays for the Foxes have prompted the Leicester hierarchy to offer him an extra year on a more lucrative deal in a bid to ensure he stays at the club.
Barnes has been terrific so far this season, scoring and assisting against Burnley in the second game of the season.
The only thing missing from his game right now is a consistent end product to add to his industrious and dynamic style.
As soon as he starts scoring and assisting more, the bigger sides in the country will start to pay attention.
It’s Leicester’s intention to take action before this happens by starting negotiations with Barnes following the international break.
