Match Preview: Manchester City vs Arsenal

After a 99-day hiatus due to COVID-19, the Premier League is set to return on Wednesday as Arsenal take on the champions in one of two fixtures.

The Gunners will look to continue the fine form they have been since the turn of the year.

They remain the only unbeaten side this year and have every right to feel confident ahead of Wednesday’s showdown.

However, the Etihad has been a torrid visiting ground for them in recent times. In the last five meetings, Arsenal have won and drawn a game apiece, losing the other three with an aggregate score of 8-3.

Mikel Arteta will face his former boss for the first time since they parted ways.

To his delight, more players are currently available for selection compared to the original date the game was to hold.

Kieran Tierney has completed his rehabilitation and could play a part. Although, Lucas Torriera’s involvement is still doubtful as he continues his recovery from a fractured ankle.

On the other hand, Pep Guardiola has a full squad to choose from for the first time in a long time. Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane have both returned to first-team training and are in contention to feature.

Manchester City team prediction: Ederson; Mendy, Laporte, Fernandinho, Walker; De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Mahrez

Arsenal team prediction: Leno; Saka, Luiz, Sokratis, Bellerin; Xhaka, Ceballos, Aubameyang, Ozil, Pepe; Lacazette
