Both Manchester City and Paris St-Germain have joined the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
According to Le10sport, the two sides look set to rival Liverpool in a bid to sign the 29-year-old.
The Spanish international has drawn speculation by admitting it may be time for a fresh move away from Germany. That has since led to ever-growing rumours of a move to play under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
However, the latest report from the French news outlet may cast huge doubt over that move.
But would a move to Manchester City be the right move for Thiago Alcantara? Well if anyone knows the midfielder it is Pep Guardiola. The now City manager handed Thiago his first start for Barcelona as an 18-year-old.
He would be so impressed with Thiago that he would then sign him for Bayern Munich too. So could a familiar face in a new country be the right move for Thiago?
As per the report, you cannot rule PSG out of the race for Thiago’s signature. The French giants will be able to rival any side in terms of transfer fee and wages thanks to their financial backing.
Time is running out on this PSG side to win an elusive Champions League title with many players starting to get older. With a midfield that lacks creativity is Thiago the missing link to the French side?
Whichever side does manage to secure the signature of Thiago Alcantara, the Spaniard could be the signing of the summer.
