Wilfried Zaha recently penned a 5-year contract extension with Crystal Palace, but his time at the Selhurst Park might be cut short, as various clubs across Europe are interested in the attacker.
According to Sky Sports, Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are interested in signing the Crystal Palace star, after he made clear his desire to quit the club.
Failed Arsenal Move
Last season, Wilfried Zaha was subject to heavy transfer speculations linking him with a move across London to join Arsenal and a Merseyside move to Everton. He was reportedly keen on the joining the Gunners, being a childhood supporter of the club.
The move failed to materialize after the Crystal Palace hierarchy — unwilling to let go of their best player — slapped a hefty £80million on Zaha.
This prompted Arsenal to look elsewhere in their pursuit, which ultimately led to the signing of Nicolas Pepe.
Dip in Performance Level
Following a failed summer move to Arsenal, the 27-year-old struggled to perform for the Eagles last season.
He finished the 2019/20 season with four goals and five assists in 38 Premier League games for Roy Hudson.
This prompted the Crystal Palace boss to reveal that both the club and player were in a dilemma regarding the star player’s form.
Crystal Palace Ready to Sell
The Eagles are finally really to sell Zaha and are reportedly willing to accept a cut-price fee of £30million for their prized asset.
Of course, this is a long way off the £80million asking price demanded last season.
The Interest from across Europe is, therefore, no surprise, as £30million for Zaha in the current market is a good bit of business.
He is very experienced and has been a regular at Crystal Palace since 2010. Internationally, Zaha has also represented the Ivory Coast national team on various occasions.
Crystal Palace have already begun the search for a potential replacement and are linked with QPR’s Ebere Eze and Brentford’s Ollie, amongst others.
